  • El Saltillo: Located near Cómpeta, in Canillas de Aceituno.

  • In winter: Skiing in Sierra Nevada – just 2 hours to the slopes.

Restaurants 

We recommend: 

  • El Pampano - homemade food style, very good and friendly service. For the paella ask and reserve a day before.

  • El Pilon – good for BBQ meat and fish

  • Bar Paco - in Plaza Almijara - very good for a drink with tapas and/or lunch or casual dinner

  • Cortijo Paco - very good for dinner – the view is fantastic for a romantic dinner. Top quality food- book in advance.

  • Siddhartha on the rock - casual food and drinks in a nice terrace.

  • Bar la Carpintería - good drinks and beer - live music - good atmosphere.

Near Cómpeta:  

  • Restaurant - Bar El Acebuchal, adventurous road to get there, but it can be easier to enter on the road from Frigiliana and come back on the way to Fabrica de la luz.

  • Venta el Curro, in Archez. A good restaurant for meat

BEACH

  • Torre del Mar (30 min)

  • Torrox (25 min) – Playa las Dunas

  • Nerja (40 min) – Playa Burriana for kayak rentals and excursions 

  • Almayate – next to Torre del Mar (naturist) (35 min)

  • Cantarrijan (naturist optional) (45 min) - beach bars & very good food. Park your car up, near the road and take the bus to go down – 2 euros / person.

  • La Herradura (just over the border province Granada) (45 min)

Supermarkets & Shopping

  • There are several supermarkets: Coviran, Eroski, Dia, Niño Bonito.

  • Market, in the main parking – centre of town - on Saturday Morning.

  • 2 or 3 bakeries in the Village. 

  • Fish and seafood shop in the Plaza Almijara

  • Pharmacy – there are 2 near Plaza Almijara

  • Wines and olive oil from the region – in the specialized shop near Plaza Almijara and in the Supermarkets

  • Products and crafts from the area in "Casa de la Pasa"

Shopping outside Cómpeta

  • Vélez-Málaga – big shopping centre EL INGENIO, with supermarket.

  • Torre del Mar - various supermarkets and shops. 

  • Torrox Costa - various supermarkets and shops.

  • Nerja - very picturesque and touristic – many restaurants

  • Málaga - city centre and the numerous malls, “Outlet Village” near airport.
